Found this DOTS (S for sidewalk in this case), never even heard of a Suzuki FA50 before. It was very tiny, smaller than an adult bicycle, and looked like a lot of fun. The wheels are 14" for size reference.

Pennsylvania requires a license plate for pretty much any two wheeled contraption with a gasoline engine, no matter how small, so owner of this one was technically ‘riding dirty.’ I d on’t hold it against her though.

never seen a suzuki fa50 before

but tiny moped are quite popular here... mostly 49cc puch mopeds

16 year olds get em to hit 70-100 kmh after a little tuning

then the cops confiscate them

rinse and repeat

(course nowadays.. scooters are cooler and only the oddballs run around on puchs)

When i was 12 or 13 (1985/86) I remember going into a motorcycle dealership that was in the really shitty part of town near Shea Stadium and seeing the FA50s, as well as the Yamaha YSR50s.

I don’t recall how much the FA50s were, but I remember at the time seeing a ds for new H onda Spree 50cc scooters for $400, so they couldn’t have been much more than that.

My VW rides on 14" wheels. Think those would fit?

Anything in Ohio under 50cc requires no plating or even licensing I believe. Treat it like a bike.
